A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I once ran an icon journal on livejournal called [livejournal.com profile] colortone. I haven't touched it in years, and I've been out of the icon making business for even longer, but since dabbling my toes in the water, I wanted to start fresh.

However, I decided to drag all the old resources I've made that I still actually have over with me, since some of this crap is still actually useful. I'll be shoving it under a cut, etc. Unfortunately, I don't have all of my old texture and gradient packs, just what was preserved on DevArt. However, I may try my hand at at least re-creating and improving upon that stuff I did years ago, so never fear.

Several texture sets + brushes and gradients under the cut. )

A set of fifteen 100x100 blurred icon textures for your amusement.

These work great as overlays to add a little pop of color and change the lighting and mood of an icon. I found I needed a little something to even out the icky lighting and color quality of some PotC interior shots, and ended up making these because no amount of fiddling was quite cutting it. And then I figured if I needed them for period lighting (as those on my plurk will attest to my grumbles) there are, undoubtedly, others who might get some use out of them, too.
